CATMEX Maintenance is a family-owned San Francisco LBE Landscape and Maintenance Company, managed by a husband and wife team of Catarino and Suzanne Mendoza. The company has steadily grown since its inception in June of 1999 by subcontracting on San Francisco projects with many of the industry’s top Prime contractors as well as building a solid relationship with San Francisco Department of Public Works.
CATMEX has built a long-term relationship with many of the neighborhood community groups throughout the greater San Francisco area and has established a norm for working not only with the City, but also with its partners.
ABOUT CATMEX
CATMEX is a state licensed C-27 and D-49 company with specialized focus in landscape construction and tree removal/clearing expertise. With over 15+ years in the landscape and maintenance business, CATMEX is now expanding from primarily working as a subcontractor to participating as the prime contractor in future San Francisco public agency contracts.
CATMEX understands that in order to provide a turn-key solution for a design build project, a solid team is needed. CATMEX’s success over the past 15+ years has been through personal interaction with each client to fully understand their scope and needs, while directly working onsite to ensure a successful completion of each project. CATMEX has established a standard for each project to stay on time and on budget. CATMEX is able to maintain this philosophy by working with Local Business Enterprises (LBEs) as well as local vendors to provide the best pricing and quality in product and service for their clients.

Catarino Mendoza
Owner, Site Manager and Project Engineer
Catarino Mendoza is CATMEX’s Owner, Site Manager and Project Engineer. Originally Born in Mexico City, Catarino came to the United States in 1989. He and Suzanne met and married in 1991 and have 4 children: 3 boys and 1 girl. The oldest children are part of the family business. Catarino worked for San Francisco League of Urban gardeners from 1990 to 1999 as crew leader/foreman at SLUG for misguided youth picked up at YGC, and adults in prison halfway houses throughout Bayview area teaching them how to reestablish themselves in society as upstanding citizens giving them life and work skills in the landscape, garden and construction field. During his employment at SLUG, Catarino returned to College and furthered his education in tree pruning and tree removal through the SF City College tree care classes. He ran several projects at once building mini parks and gardens throughout San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. While teaching job skills, critical thinking, and communication skills on a job site. After 9 years, Catarino decided to move on and build his own business in the landscape, janitorial and maintenance field. Since inception, he has continued to improve his education on landscaping and landscape construction to further his ability to provide his clients with the most up-to-date landscape methods in the field, providing them with a beautiful, innovative experience in a landscaped area. Catarino has managed crews from the size of 2 to 10 with experience in many types of machinery and can get his work done with the allotted time required on budget. He looks forward to his next new opportunity to build another beautiful landscape!
Suzanne Mendoza
Co-Owner and Office Manager
Suzanne Mendoza is CATMEX’s Co-Owner and Office Manager. A San Francisco native of 4 generations, Suzanne has deep roots in the Bay Area. As CATMEX’s Office Manager, Suzanne handles all aspects of the documentation and implementation of safety for the company, certified payroll, estimations, and quotes. Suzanne manages communication with the clients as well as job site walks and addresses client concerns. She also does product orders, vendor communications and logistics.
